Szekszárd Knowledge Center - Tolna County Archives

The building consists of 3 main functional units which are the library, the archive and the community spaces. The building has a monolithic, reinforced concrete structure, the material of the cladding is fiber cement in light and dark grey colours. The library section provides new home for the Gyula Illyés library which was already operating in Szekszárd.  Compact storage shelving systems were also installed in the library and archive departments. In the library section, there is a scrollable system with manual crank movement, which has a capacity of approximately 1,400 shelf flow meters, and in the archive department, it is electrically operated and has a capacity of 20,000 shelf flow meters. Community spaces in addition to the large hall, it also includes a multifunctional event hall with a capacity of 200 people. In order to increase the sustainability of the building, a solar panel system was placed on the closing slabs.
